DALLAS

I want to share a quick post on some recent Dallas discoveries. I visited a few weeks ago for the first time and I am back for more.

On my first visit I stayed at the Homewood Suites in Downtown and I really like it. The customer service was great, they include breakfast and an evening reception (snacks and drinks), and the gym was also nice. They had cross trainers, bikes, treadmills, weights, mats, water, and towels. They also had a nice pool area. My favorite though -my room! I had a full kitchen, sitting area, and one of the walls of my room was all glass with a super awesome view! I watched the sun set every night. I actually didn’t close the blinds the entire time I was there.

This time I am staying at the Hilton Anatole and I just love the gym here because they have fitness classes – good ones too. So far I’ve attended the kickboxing, pilates and bootcamp. I recommend them all, especially the bootcamp – the instruction, Michelle, is awesome.

Tip – If you are a Hilton Honors member you get full access to the gym for FREE. Full access = gym, fitness classes, pool, hot tub and sauna. You also get access to the lounge which has breakfast and an evening reception every day.

If you are a Hilton Honors member with status you can access the lounge for breakfast everyday from 630-10am and for the evening reception from 5-7. The evening reception is basically dinner. They also offer free soft drinks throughout the day.

I haven’t had much time for food exploring but we did go to a Korean BBQ place called Seoul Garden and it was pretty good. They were also able to accommodate our group of 18 people – just call ahead if you are going to be coming in with a larger party.

If I find more food spots I’ll let you know 🙂

I honestly saved the best for last – drum rolllllllll – my favorite place so far is……FOSSIL RIM!

It’s basically a safari but in TX – yes it’s 1.5 hours from Dallas DFW airport so it technically isn’t IN Dallas but it is so worth the drive. You pay $30 for admission and 1 bag of food for the animals. You hop into your car and you drive through and just feed the animals and it’s so awesome. I had so much fun. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for fun things to do.

I’ll be doing more of these quickie posts so stay tuned! 🙂
