Already this year I’ve discovered some serious book gems that I just have to share with you.
Here are some of my recommendations!
The Power of Now – I learned SO much from this book. This is one that I know I will read again because the title really does say it all. There is so much power in living in the now and leaving the past in the past. It also teaches you that worrying about the future is pointless because you have no idea what the future holds.
The Alchemist – This book changed my life. I read it during some not so great times in my life and it really brought things into prospective for me. It motivated me to follow my dreams and to LIVE life.
How to Stop Worrying and Start Living – The worrier in me seriously needed this one. If you are someone that worries all the time about everything and just overthinks LIFE – read this book.
Big Magic – When I first picked this book up I thought it was going to be about how to get my creative juices flowing. Oh how wrong I was. This book is about SO much more than that.
My favorite part of the book was when Elizabeth Gilbert talked about fear and how you should almost make friends with it. You have to accept that it’s there and invite it along for the ride BUT you just don’t let it drive. You don’t let it make any decisions.

The Obstacle is the Way – I remember reading this one during some of my runs and hitting the back button and replaying so much of it. He talks a lot about how you can turn any obstacle into an opportunity.

The Mastery of Love – This book explains that you absolutely have to learn to love yourself before you can ever accept or love anyone else. And I know that you have probably heard that before but speaking from experience here – until you are able to love yourself you will never be able to truly love someone.
You Are a Badass – Oh did I need this one. This is one of those books that kinda just smacks you around and snaps you out of it. We are so hard on ourselves sometimes and we get so in our heads and wrapped up in negative thoughts that just keep us from getting to where we want to be. Where we need to be. This book really says hey get it together. You’re amazing! 🙂
The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself – This book gets into the process of how you can train your mind to let go of negativity and stress. No you can’t read this book and be free from your negative thoughts overnight. But if you begin the process by accepting what is and by learning to let go of what you can’t control, you will find happiness. You will find peace.
