It had been a while since I last had Colombian food so I was really craving some. I went straight to Yelp and found that Cali Viejo was just up the street from where I was in Brandon so off to food explore we went!
As soon as we were seated and our drink orders were out of the way I got my order of empanadas in. I’ve always loved that Colombian empanadas are made of a crunchy cornmeal “pocket” with a potato and beef mixture. And the empanadas at Cali Viejo did not disappoint.
For our main dishes we ordered the salmon, the lomo salteado and the bistec a caballo. I personally liked the lomo the best. The dish was seasoned really well and the meat, french fries and tomatoes mixture were so good.
